Natural elements & colorful designs inspire me, from my home in Western NY, as well as from my travel experiences.
 
I first became interested in pottery through my undergraduate studies at Tulane University, where I learned of Newcomb Pottery - pottery designed and decorated by women in the late 1800s/early 1900s when it was uncommon for women to work outside the home.  Many designs included local flora and fauna - this inspiration propelled me to take my first pottery class.
 
My designs are both functional and decorative - ok for the oven and dishwasher.
